PPCs are the easiest and most popular The CB Passive Income Review affiliate marketing method. With this method the affiliate marketer places banners and text ads from the merchants he chooses on his own website or websites. Each time a visitor to the affiliate's personal website(s) clicks on one of these banners or ads, he earns money. With PPC offers, the affiliate gets paid whether or not a purchase is ever made. Understandably, the pay outs from PPC offers or campaigns are relatively low; often resulting in commissions of less than one dollar per click.

CPA offers are HUGE! They are well known among big affiliates and all types of merchants. Using CPA offers, the affiliate gets credited (paid) only when a visitor to one of their affiliate content websites "performs" a certain action. This action may be a purchase or simply becoming a member of a merchant website, or signing up for a monthly newsletter. This method is very beneficial for merchants because they only pay a commission when a desired action takes place. For affiliates, CPA offers are attractive because they are offer larger payouts, typically getting paid 15-20% of the sale.

Another way to look at and classify the nature of affiliate marketing is to look at the depth of the transactions related to each customer, affiliate, or visit. Some affiliate marketing programs are single-tier, 2-tier or multi-tier. Another type is called residual income marketing. Here are some of the key differences:

If an affiliate program is single-tier, the affiliate gets the commission for any visitors they are responsible for directing to a merchant's website an/or any sales that result from that visit. PPC and CPA offers can both be of a 1-tier nature. With 2-tier affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets the commission for every action done by the visitors referred by him - PLUS - a commission when another affiliate referred by him gets a commission too. The affiliate marketer is getting direct and indirect earnings with this method. The multi-tier marketing is the similar to- 2-tier marketing, except that the affiliate gets the commission for the sales made by their affiliated affiliates in multiple tiers. The depth of this type may be unlimited.
